Michelle McKenzie
Michelle returned to North Suffolk Community Services in 2024 to serve as Chief Advancement Officer, overseeing the agency’s internal and external communications, marketing and development efforts. She previously worked at North Suffolk from 2020 to 2022 as the communications and development specialist, working to elevate the important work being done throughout all the organization’s service areas.
In between, Michelle was an account manager with Ball Consulting Group, specializing in strategic and crisis communications for nonprofit human services providers. Prior to NSCS and Ball Consulting, Michelle led the communications efforts at the Providers’ Council, the largest association of human services providers in New England. In all these roles she increased community engagement through social media, produces eye-catching collateral and marketing materials and brought stability and consistency to their messaging.
Michelle started her career as a sportswriter and editor at The Enterprise in Brockton, Mass. after earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University.
She is a former board member for the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts (APCSM) and Weymouth Little League. She was also the human half of a Dog B.O.N.E.S. Therapy Dog team with her beloved pit bull Hathaway, visiting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
