Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Noddles Island is North Suffolk’s Addiction Services Department, providing outpatient services to people of all ages who are struggling with addiction. We also offer services to family members and friends learning to cope with their loved one’s addiction. NSMHA is now offering walk-in Urgent Care to outpatient addiction treatment programs for adults and adolescents, in English and Spanish, at our East Boston Counseling Center, 14 Porter St., East Boston. Evening Conexions Intensive Outpatient Program (SOAP & IOP)
Adults with Substance Use Disorder participate in structured addiction treatment provided by a multi-disciplinary team. This program offers intensive treatment and intervention while allowing clients to still participate in work, school and meet other obligations. Clients will receive group therapy that is focused on skill building and education around substance use and relapse prevention. Individual & Group Therapy
Individual & Group therapy services are provided by both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking clinicians for children and adults. Clients work on personal treatment goals around substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, etc. A variety of evidenced-based practices are used to ensure the best possible outcomes. Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Psychiatry
NSMHA provides medications for the treatment of alcohol addiction and opioid use disorder, including Sublocade, Suboxone and Vivitrol. We are committed to treating the whole person, which means that:
- The MAT team is a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians, medical professionals and recovery coaches who provide a holistic, wraparound service approach with medication treatment.
- All prescribers are committed to treating both substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- MAT can be provided in conjunction with any of our outpatient, residential or recovery support services.

Conexions Day Treatment
Conexions day treatment program provides a coordinated set of individualized, integrated and therapeutic supportive services to those with psychiatric disorders that need more active or inclusive treatment than is typically available through traditional outpatient mental health services. Clients participate in a variety of supportive, educational and skill-building groups. Services are offered in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Urgent Care for Outpatient Addiction Treatment Programs
NSMHA offers Urgent Care for outpatient services for mental health and addiction treatment in East Boston for adults, children and adolescents. Urgent Care is a walk-in screening to complete paperwork and discuss available services with a triage clinician. It takes approximately 30 minutes. Clients may or may not have an intake assessment the same day. (With same-day intake, it can be up to 3 hours total.)
