NSCS’s experienced emergency services team provides 24/7/365 mobile crisis intervention in your community, offering crisis evaluations anywhere in East Boston, Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop and Charlestown including, and not limited to, homes, schools, clinics, local businesses, libraries, police departments, Logan Airport, and local government offices. These experienced clinicians provide a comprehensive evaluations and emergency behavioral health treatment services when and where you need them.
The Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) at North Suffolk offers a variety of mental health and addiction services, including individual and group therapy, psychiatry, recovery coaching, and crisis evaluation.
Our Services
Mobile Crisis Intervention
North Suffolk’s Mobile Crisis Intervention team provides a comprehensive, highly integrated system of crisis evaluation and emergency mental health treatment services to Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, and Winthrop. Always available, this team serves individuals of all ages who are experiencing acute psychiatric/behavioral health needs. Clinicians meet with clients at home, at the CBHC, or anywhere in the community to assess people’s needs, provide immediate support, and connect people to follow-up care.

This toll-free number is available for both adults and children and can be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week to obtain emergency behavioral health services. NSCS’ Crisis Call Center can dispatch mobile clinicians to intervene at the site of the crisis, and provide support, information and referrals based on the caller’s needs. Outpatient Services
North Suffolk’s CBHC provides individual and group therapy as well as psychiatric services for youth and adults experiencing emotional difficulties, family struggles, mental illness, addiction, or other challenges to daily living. Services at 14 Porter St. include:
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling for youth and adults
- Group Therapy: The CBHC offers a variety of groups focused on particular topics; for example, Anger Management and Relapse Prevention. Groups are typically made up of 4-12 individuals and are facilitated by one or more clinicians. Please call or visit for a full list of groups.
- Psychiatry: Our psychiatric providers work with clients to determine if medications are appropriate tools for supporting client recovery. We offer a full range of psychiatric medications, including those used to support serious mental illness and addiction recovery.
- Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT): Our psychiatry team offers MAT for clients recovering from addiction. Medications offered include Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublocade, and more. We do not offer methadone treatment.
- Day Treatment: North Suffolk’s Conexions Day Treatment Program provides group-based treatment five days a week to adults diagnosed with severe mental illness. Treatment is not time limited and focuses on holistic recovery. Treatment is provided in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
- Intensive Outpatient Program for Addiction (IOP): North Suffolk’s IOP is a group-based treatment for adults recovering from addiction that meets five days per week. Treatment is abstinence-focused and typically lasts 4-5 months. Treatment is provided in English. Call for information about groups for Spanish-speakers.
- Recovery Coaching: Coaches provide support, referrals and information to clients in any stage of addiction or recovery from substance use disorders. Coaches have lived experience with addiction and are trained and certified. They can work with clients in the CBHC, in the home or in the community
- Southeast Asian Treatment Services: North Suffolk offers linguistically and culturally competent therapy and psychiatric services to members of the Vietnamese community at the CBHC.
