As a Weekend floater you will be responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with MH/ DS. Weekend Floaters are part-time (16 hours per week) positions, responsible for providing weekend coverage in a residential home setting; in either a Direct Support Professional or Awake Overnight capacity. During their assigned hours, floaters must be willing, and able, to work at any residential program at short notice. Floaters may be hired to work at either Mental Health or Developmental Disability residential programs. Access to reliable transportation is required, to ensure the floater’s ability to travel to different sites quickly and efficiently.

Three shifts available, please indicate your preference in application.

Overnight – Sat-Sun 11pm-7am
Day – Sat-Sun 7am-3pm
Evening – Sat-Sun 3pm-11pm

Salary: $16/hour

Expectation of the Role:

  • Support individuals in the completion of their daily routines; and for ensuring persons served live a safe, healthy, enjoyable life in the community.
  • Ensure that individuals are provided with opportunities to learn and exercise, increasing independence as much as is practicable.
  • Properly administer medication (or support individuals who can self-medicate) in accordance with Agency, DDS, DMH and DPH guidelines – Medication Administration Procedures (MAP).
  • Provide transportation for individuals to/from activities, medical appointments, and/or day programs through use of agency vehicle.
  • Responsible for understanding, writing and implementing any support strategies pertaining to ISP goals.
  • Handle crisis situations according to agency policies and procedures, seeking resources when necessary.
  • Each direct support staff member is responsible for ensuring that the human rights of all individuals served are met.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

What you’’ll need:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. High school degree or GED required

Experience: One to two years human services experience with similar population preferred

Skills: Must have Driver’s license. Must be MAP certified, CPR/1st aide within five months of hire (training provided)

Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) is a comprehensive clinically focused service anchored by a multi-disciplinary team that provides services through an integrated team led by clinical staff.  ACCS will provide clinical interventions and peer and family support to facilitate engagement, support functioning and maximize symptom stabilization and self-management of individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
