North Suffolk is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team! This is a chance to work for a large non-profit that makes a huge difference in the lives of thousands of people in the greater Boston area.  Work for us and you will be making a significant difference in our community!

This is a mid-level position but training will be provided.  If you are proficient in bookkeeping/accounting this might be the perfect position for you.  If you have real estate or property management bookkeeping skills, that puts you at the front of the line!

This is full time position, but we will consider a flex schedule for a working parent, especially if your skills make you an exceptional candidate.

We are also offering a $3,000 sign on bonus based on a full time or pro-rated for flex employees!

The projected pay range for this position is 45k – 52k a year depending on experience.

What You’ll Do:

Bookkeeping:

  • Record cash receipts and cash disbursements.
  • Responsible for billing and monitoring monthly rents, subsidies and tenant activity.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Maintain the daily cash balance to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all monthly payables are recorded and posted to accurate accounts and paid timely.
  • Monthly analysis and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist Director with our fleet of vehicles and interface and communicate with insurance companies and other government agencies.
  • Assist Director with the proper tracking and recording of all Fixed Asset accounts.
  • Maintain proper control on client security deposits and rental activity.
  • Assist the Director on the monthly close including journal entries for all our entities.

What you’ll need:

  • Education:
    • BA/BS in Accounting (or similar field) and three (3) years experience; or seven (7) years experience in a related field in place of degree.
  • Experience:
    • Experience with Data Processing and automated accounting skills.
  • Skills
    • Competent in Excel.
    • Bookkeeping skills — Minimum of 2 years.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Vaccination: At least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire and complete the full vaccination schedule in the appropriate timeline as documented by the CDC requirements for vaccination.
