Evening Assistant Director, BEST
NSMHA is looking for an Assistant Director to join our team! The Evening Assistant Director is responsible for the overall responsibility for assisting with the delegated clinical and administrative aspects of our Boston Emergency Services Team.
This particular position covers the late afternoon/evening (i.e. 3pm-11pm or 4pm-12m) in order to provide real time supervision, consultation, training and to ensure overall smooth operation of the mobile team.
What you’ll do:
- 24/7 Management of day to day operations of mobile crisis team and urgent care center which provides psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, psychopharmacological treatment, peer to peer support and therapeutic response to children, youth and their families.
- Assist with supervisory responsibilities in accordance with North Suffolk’s policies and applicable laws
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of applications, contracts, budgets and similar documents related to program funding.
- Assist in the development and allocation of program resources.
- Performs periodic program evaluation and quality assurance.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of contracts with individuals and agencies, for the purposes of referrals, compliance with regulations, and general community relations.
- Provides 24/7 on-call coverage on a regular rotating basis. During on-call hours the Assistant Director provides in-the-moment training, supervision, and consultation to a very active on call staff of clinicians, family partners, and peer specialists.
- Triage and assign cases, collaborate with families, individuals and providers to provide best information to clinicians in the field and assist each team member on each case to decide best disposition through telephonic supervision. Work closely with the Boston Medical Center (BMC) Call Center on the assignment of cases and additional triaging, when necessary.
- Provide in-the-moment supervision to mobile clinicians and other staff and provide training to newer staff, while also conducting face to face encounters in various mobile locations
- Manage all aspects of open and ongoing cases, including boarded patients including
- placement, insurance authorizations, and close clinical management of boarded patients,
- following ESP guidelines of placement in the most appropriate, least restrictive placement settings.
- Monitor productivity, caseloads and units-of-work level of clinicians and family partners
- Perform clinical services, crisis intervention and appropriate evaluations as needed.
- Develop and monitor all staff, program, and facility policies.
What you’ll need:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Nursing, or Human Services.
- Experience: Three to five years of supervisory/administrative experience in mental health field or Human Services field.
- Knowledge/Skills: Must have working knowledge of emergency services procedures. Must have access to a vehicle in order to provide mobile support.
