Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
NSMHA is seeking two excellent ANCC board certified experienced psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNP) for a vibrant community mental health center. Both positions are full-time, but qualified part-time applicants will also be considered. The PMHNP may elect to work in one or more of our psychiatric services located in downtown Boston, East Boston and Chelsea. Each PMHNP actively participates in a multidisciplinary team and works very closely other psychiatric providers, nurses and clinicians together with program managers and coordinators to provide outstanding psychiatric care. Responsibilities include initial outpatient psychiatric evaluation, ongoing psychiatric management and treatment planning, and integrated psychiatric treatment and medication management services. All PMHNP will be provided with direct supervision and consultation by a board certified psychiatrist, independently of their years of experience.

Education/Qualifications: Degree from a certified PMHNP program ANCC board certification, and Massachusetts licensure required. Three to five years of experience in psychiatric, inpatient or outpatient community health and mental health settings; experience with SMI, homeless and/or D/HH populations and Spanish-speaking preferred. Experience and excellent knowledge of psychopharmacology, including administration of long-acting injectable antipsychotics and clozapine preferred. Previous experience with chronic disease management, psychiatric-medical care coordination preferred. Recent grads with the extensive psychiatric nursing experience will also be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of rehabilitative approaches to the treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Knowledge of psychiatric and substance use disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches. Strong communication and liaison skills. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing clinic based services. Ability to exemplify and maintain a supportive, professional and productive attitude with fellow employees. Ability to work independently. Strong time management skills.
