As a DS Clinical Coordinator you will work with the Clinical Manager and other clinical staff to support individuals and staff in the Developmental Services Division. The Clinical Coordinator plays a major role in the ongoing overall training of the DS Residential department’s direct service and management staff. They also play a role in the development and implementation of Person Centered Planning and Positive Behavioral Supports techniques and protocols/strategies. The person contributes to the leadership of the department in developing and providing quality services based on person centered models. The Clinical Coordinator is part responsible for the writing, implementation, and training of positive behavior support plans, data collection, graphing and more. The positive behavior support plans will be based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and will include pre-cursors, identified problem times, proactive strategies, and responses to target behaviors that are specific to each individual. The Clinical Coordinator must be able to work in a team environment to help individuals improve social, work, and or daily living skills, while helping to reduce maladaptive behaviors. The Clinical Coordinator will help evaluate the effectiveness of positive behavior support plans and make any necessary changes to help individuals learn new skills and behaviors more effectively.
We are offering a $3,000 sign on bonus for this position.
Salary Range: $27 to $31 per hour
Expectations of the role:
- Develop trainings and train Developmental Services staff in a variety of topics at the training center including, but not limited to, Positive Interaction Strategies, Person Centered Planning, Sexuality, and Positive Behavior Supports.
- Complete assessments as needed and develop interventions and positive behavior support plans for individuals with staff, team and individual input where applicable.
- Review and update positive behavior support plans as needed and on a regular basis.
- Be familiar with and complete all documentation related to positive behavior support plans as related to compliance requirements.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision on the implementation of behavior plans.
- Provide behavior support for individuals and staff as needed.
- Respond to crisis situations when applicable.
- Understand the characteristics of a wide range of intellectual disabilities, mental health diagnoses, as well as disorders such as autism and acquired brain injury.
- Work with individuals and staff to ensure that plans are working, revised or terminated.
- Attend Human Rights Committee Meetings and write and present restriction plans as applicable and as assigned.
- Support the agency Quality Management Department and Survey and Certification processes as applicable.
- Complete necessary ISP documents as needed and submit via HCSIS.
- Participate in the development of proposals and/or grants.
- Maintain a database on appropriate information, complete paperwork, and write reports as necessary.
- Communicate with team members both within and outside of the agency effectively and professionally.
- Maintain compliance with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations.
- Attend and maintain necessary certifications, CEUs and trainings.
- Other duties assigned by the Clinical Manager or the Director of Residential Services
What you’ll need:
Education/Licensure: High School Diploma required. LMHC, LICSW, BCABA, BCBA, Psychologist, SLP and/or teacher with certification in special education required.
Experience: Two years of related direct experience with individuals that have Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities required.
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports.
Skills: Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle. Must be MAP certified and CPR/1st aide certified within the first three months of hire (training provided) Advanced Wellness certification (will be trained when hired).
