NSMHA is looking for a Family Partner to join our Community Service Agency!  This paraprofessional position provides a structured one-to-one, strength-based relationship to a parent/caregiver of a Seriously Emotionally Disturbed youth for the purpose of addressing the youth’s emotional and behavioral needs.  This is accomplished by enhancing parenting capacity and increasing access to natural community resources to enable the parent/caregiver to parent the youth successfully.

This position is designed for someone with lived experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs (preferably mental health needs).

This position is temporarily remote.

What you’ll do:

  • Engage the parent/caregiver in activities in the home and community.
  • Assist the parent/caregiver in addressing one or more goals on the youth’s treatment plan for Outpatient or In-Home Therapy or Individual Care Plan.
  • Coordinate Intensive Care Coordination Services with the Care Coordinator within the agency and Hub providers outside of the agency.
  • Assist the parent/caregiver in meeting the youth’s needs by educating, supporting, coaching, modeling or guiding and fosters empowerment.
  • Deliver services in the parent/caregiver’s home and community.
  • Participate, attend and support parent/caregiver and Care Coordinator’s for Individual Care Plan meetings.
  • Maintain regular contact with the parent/caregiver (face-to-face and telephone).
  • Provide family education, advocacy and support to youth and family.
  • Monitor, review and update the ICP to reflect the changing needs of the youth and family.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures governing client rights and confidentiality.
  • Complete appropriate documentation of service delivery in a timely manner.

    • BA in a Human Services field and one year of experience OR
    • Associates degree in a human service field and one year of related experience OR
    • High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two years relevant experience.

NSMHA is looking for an Assistant Director to join our team!  The  Assistant Director (Evenings) is responsible for the overall responsibility for assisting with the delegated clinical and administrative aspects of our Boston Emergency Services Team.  This particular position provides real time supervision, consultation, training and to ensure overall smooth operation of the mobile team during the evening shift.  The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 3pm – 11pm.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with supervisory responsibilities in accordance with North Suffolk’s policies and applicable laws
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of applications, contracts, budgets and similar documents related to program funding.
  • Assist in the development and allocation of program resources.
  • Performs periodic program evaluation and quality assurance.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of contracts with individuals and agencies, for the purposes of referrals, compliance with regulations, and general community relations.
  • Provides 24/7 on-call coverage on a regular rotating basis. During on-call hours the Assistant Director provides in-the-moment training, supervision, and consultation to a very active on call staff of clinicians, family partners, and peer specialists.
  • Triage and assign cases, collaborate with families, individuals and providers to provide best information to clinicians in the field and assist each team member on each case to decide best disposition through telephonic supervision. Work closely with the Boston Medical Center (BMC) Call Center on the assignment of cases and additional triaging, when necessary.
  • Provide in-the-moment supervision to mobile clinicians and other staff and provide training to newer staff, while also conducting face to face encounters in various mobile locations
  • Manage all aspects of open and ongoing cases, including boarded patients including
    • placement, insurance authorizations, and close clinical management of boarded patients,
    • following ESP guidelines of placement in the most appropriate, least restrictive placement settings.
  • Monitor productivity, caseloads and units-of-work level of clinicians and family partners
  • Perform clinical services, crisis intervention and appropriate evaluations as needed.
  • Develop and monitor all staff, program, and facility policies.

North Suffolk is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our Emergency Services team!​ This position provides direct emergency psychiatric clinical services, coordination and consultation to other care providers. This position provides team leadership, clinical and administrative supervision to Family Partners, Peer Specialists, Interns and Clinicians as assigned by the program director and with applicable state, local, and federal contracts, regulations and/or guidelines.

What you’ll do:

  • Under the supervision of  the Director of Emergency Services Programs (ESP), this position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with North Suffolk’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate the day to day operations of the mobile crisis team and urgent care center which provides psychiatric evaluation, crisis intervention, psychopharmacological treatment, peer to peer support and therapeutic response to children, youth and their families.
  • Under the direction of the Director of ESP provide training, supervision, and consultation to clinicians, nurses, recovery support specialists, family partners, and peer specialists.
  • Coordinate further clinical response in crisis with other management team members and funding agency staff.

NSMHA is looking for a Care Navigator to join our new CCBHC division.  The Care Navigator coordinates systems navigation, participation and transition into a behavioral health/addictions outpatient treatment program.  The Care Navigator educates and supports individuals during intake with accessing community resources, assists with intake documentation and requirements, and provides engagement outreach.  The Care Navigator is a liaison with family, care providers, natural supports and recovery coaches.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate referrals; communicate fully and effectively with referral sources to facilitate prompt and comprehensive responsiveness.
