Direct Support Professionals (I-IV) are members of a team responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Each direct support staff member is responsible for ensuring the human rights of all Individuals served are met. Direct Support Professionals are responsible for supporting individuals in the completion of their daily routines and for ensuring clients live a safe, healthful, enjoyable life in the community. Direct Support staff are responsible for ensuring Individuals are provided with opportunities to learn and exercise increasing independence as much as practicable.

High School diploma or GED Two years related experience providing child care/elder care/direct support to developmentally disabled persons or previous experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting is required. An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.

“MassStart is a school based, community centered program that offers services and supports to youth between the ages of 8-13 and their families. The program aims to reduce substance use, delinquency and promote academic achievement through an incentive based, positive youth development model. MassStart is funded by the department of Public Health (DPH) Bureau of Substance Abuse Services and is located in the Winthrop Schools. The program offers daily support to youth and maintains constant communication with teachers. A primary focus of the model is to increase parent to school attachment so students will achieve academic success.”

This job reports to the Program Coordinator and/or Assistant Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for the safety and well-being of individuals in a residential setting during overnight shifts. Provide assistance to individuals based on need level of individuals, and adheres to all agency policies and procedures and licensing/funding source requirements.

Requirements:

High school degree or GED required

Bachelor’s in related field preferred.

One (1) year human services experience with similar population required.

Must be MAP certified, CPR/first aide certified within five (5) continuous months of employment/date of hire.

Must have valid drivers license

Title Program Coordinator – DS

Job Information

This member of the DS Residential Services program is responsible for the clinical and administrative aspects of an assigned residential program, as well as the overall health and safety of the persons residing there, under the supervision of the Residential Services Coordinator.    Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.  Arrange staff schedules to meet the health and safety requirements.  Supervises the development and implementation of Quality Indicators through the ISP process and Program Goals.  Liaison with families/guardians, DDS, MCB and other service providers.  Perform on-call duties as required. Supervises the management of individual’s funds and possessions, within the guidelines of the ISP and agency.

 

High School Diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.  Must be MAP certified, CPR/first aide certified within five (5) continuous months of employment/date of hire.   Two (2) years’ experience in human services and supervisory experience required.

High School Degree or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.  Must be MAP certified, CPR/first aide certified within five (5) continuous months of employment/date of hire.   Two years experience in the Human Services field required.  Supervisory experience preferred. Valid Drivers License Required.

Relief Staff have the ability to set their own schedules based on their preference and availability, along with the freedom to work in many settings and locations. Able to work as many as 40 hours per week, Relief Staff have much earning potential, without the commitment to a set schedule. A driver’s license is preferred, but not required for Relief Staff. Relief is an excellent, and flexible, entry-level opportunity for students, or those with varying schedules, seeking to start a career in the Human Services field.
