Is a member of the Recovery Learning Center (RLC) community at the Hope Center for North Suffolk and the wider Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community (MBRLC). This position is designated for a person who is or has been a recipient of services for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.  The Peer Facilitator at the Hope Center reports to the Hope Center Director and is a contributing team member of the larger peer support specialist network at North Suffolk.

Job Requirements:

  • The peer facilitator may have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral sciences or have a high school diploma or GED
  •  Has work experience with adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs
  • This individual should be a current or former recipient of mental health services who is in recovery. May have related training (e.g., cer­tified occupational therapy assistant, home health care aide) or work experience (e.g., teaching) and life experience
  • Must have completed an accredited  Peer Facilitator training program or be willing to complete one within the first six months of hire
  • Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person visits the Hope Center and who identifies as having a mental health and/or substance use disorder.
  • CPR/1st Aid Certification within three months of hire.
