This career opportunity offered by one of New England’s most respected and progressive mental health services organizations provides the chance to work directly with people in various stages of recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders in a dynamic and community based setting.
The Peer Facilitator is the first contact at the Hope Center RLC (a peer run, recovery-focused center) for community members who are seeking peer support, a safe place to ask questions and receive answers about the journey of recovery. The Peer Facilitator also works very closely with peer support specialists from North Suffolk and the greater Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community.
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, the desire to help others advance in their recovery, and the ability to maintain and champion self-determination in. Extensive training is provided and ongoing training is available and encouraged. Peer facilitators at the Hope Center RLC are supervised by an experienced peer specialist, are part of a dynamic and diverse peer specialist team that serves all parts of the agency, and are given training and opportunities for advancement.
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. This job is designated for a person who is or has been in mental health and/or substance use services and is familiar with the social service system and the Recovery and Peer Movement in Massachusetts. Must be CPR and First Aid certified within three months of hire.
Multiple Schedules Available:
Tues and Thur – 7.5 hours a day
Tues and Wend – 7.5 hours a day
