We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work directly with infants and toddlers in an Early Intervention setting.

The Early Intervention Social Worker coordinates and provides early intervention services and treatment to children and child/family clients using a team approach.  The Early Intervention Social Worker works with children in home, program, or other community settings, which are identified as clients’ natural environments for individuals and groups.  Facilitate and participate in the development and execution of IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan).  Work as part of a team to meet the needs of infants, toddlers and their families through education, advocacy, support, and family resources.

Using a strength-based and family-centered approach, provide early intervention developmental therapies to children aged birth to three within the context of relationship with their families/caregivers.  Join a multi-disciplinary professional team using developmental, expressive therapy and trauma informed intervention strategies in partnership with families.  Clinical opportunity to also join our Infant Mental Health/Family Support team providing discrete services within early intervention, as well as with a small number of preschool children on an outpatient basis.

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work required.
  • LCSW or LICSW required.
  • Either be or ability to become Early Intervention certified with DPH.

  • Administer and interpret client testing activities and prepare written reports.
  • Provide direct child developmental and family support and home teaching services and when in role of Service Coordinator provide case management to clients in home program and community settings.

Requirements:

Education: A Master’s level graduate who holds a certificate of clinical competence (C.C.C.) granted by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, and licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions, or is in his/her clinical fellowship year prior to being granted a C.C.C. Expectation of program to be Certified Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS) within three years of hire.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children. Pediatric feeding experience/infant experience.

Title Early Childhood Services – Service Coordinator/Mental Health

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide early intervention screening/intake, evaluation and assessment of service needs and provision of appropriate direct services.
  • Provide discrete short term Behavioral/Educational Interventions with child/family clients.
  • Provide direct child developmental and family support and home teaching services and case management to clients in home, program, and community settings.
  • Coordinate as team evaluator in child developmental assessments and monitor conduct of additional child/family assessments and service delivery.
  • Facilitate and participate in development of IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan), and in the execution, review and evaluation of the plan.
  • Coordinate full range of home-based and center/community-based services with early intervention team including contracted discrete therapy and FFS service providers.
  • Provide education, advocacy, and support on child and parenting issues and information of community resources to client families.
  • Coordinate intervention service with medical, state, and health providers with family consent.
  • Assist in developing a transition plan for child and family client.
  • Share knowledge and resources of Developmental Education Approach and assist in group Curricular Development.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Expressive Therapy, Mental Health or Social Work required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Intervention, Nursing, or Education with concentration or considerable experience in Infancy/Early Childhood and Special Education required.
  • Either be or to become Early Intervention certified with DPH.
  • Knowledgeable of the EEC Regulations and Requirements for infant/toddler classroom.
  • Driver’s license and vehicle needed – Off-site travel required.

Position Summary:

  • Provide clinical assessments, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of children using individual and group techniques.
  • Participate with/or supervises staff for assessments and interventions.
  • Administer and interpret client assessment activities as needed.
  • Function fully as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Attend staff meetings and case conferences.
  • Participate in service coordination activities as a team member.
  • Prepare written reports as needed. Maintain all required DPH, agency and program required documentation and ensure all client file placement.
  • Share knowledge and resources about involved pediatric occupational therapy intervention to client’s parents and staff.
  • Provide consultation, training, and inservices to staff as needed.
  • Maintain all equipment used in occupational therapy.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a curriculum in Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association and licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with children from birth to three years of age. Pediatric work experience required.
  • Either be or to become Early Intervention certified with DPH.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children. Pediatric work experience is required.
