Job Summary:

Coordinate and provide early intervention services and treatment to child and child/family clients using team approach, in home, program or other community settings, which are identified as clients’ natural environments.

  • Responsible for the assessment, and treatment of children/families between birth through three years of age who are in need of this specialized therapy.
  • Offer expertise to clients and staff both in individual and group settings.
  • Provide clinical assessments, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of children using individual and group techniques.
  • Administer and interpret client testing activities and prepare written reports.
  • Provide direct child developmental and family support and home teaching services and when in role of Service Coordinator provide case management to clients in home program and community settings.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s level graduate who holds a certificate of clinical competence (C.C.C.) granted by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, and licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions, or is in his/her clinical fellowship year prior to being granted a C.C.C.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children.
  • Expectation of program to be Certified Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS) within three years of hire.
  • Pediatric feeding experience/infant experience.
  • Spanish/English bilinguals strongly encouraged to apply.

Title Early Intervention Service Coordinator/Social Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to work directly with infants and toddlers in an Early Intervention setting.

The Early Intervention Social Worker coordinates and provides early intervention services and treatment to children and child/family clients using a team approach.  The Early Intervention Social Worker works with children in home, program, or other community settings, which are identified as clients’ natural environments for individuals and groups.  Facilitate and participate in the development and execution of IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan).  Work as part of a team to meet the needs of infants, toddlers and their families through education, advocacy, support, and family resources.

Using a strength-based and family-centered approach, provide early intervention developmental therapies to children aged birth to three within the context of relationship with their families/caregivers.  Join a multi-disciplinary professional team using developmental, expressive therapy and trauma informed intervention strategies in partnership with families.  Clinical opportunity to also join our Infant Mental Health/Family Support team providing discrete services within early intervention, as well as with a small number of preschool children on an outpatient basis.

Reports to the Program Director, Assistant Program Director or the Clinical Manager.  Coordinate and provide early intervention services and treatment to child and child/family clients using team approach, in home, program, or other community settings, which are identified as clients’ natural environments for individuals and groups.

Requirements 

Master’s degree in Social Work required.  LCSW or LICSW required.  Either be or ability to become Early Intervention certified with DPH. Valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle needed.  Either be or to become Early Intervention certified with DPH.
