Relief Staff have the ability to set their own schedules based on their preference and availability, along with the freedom to work in many settings and locations. Able to work as many as 40 hours per week, Relief Staff have much earning potential, without the commitment to a set schedule. A driver’s license is preferred, but not required for Relief Staff. Relief is an excellent, and flexible, entry-level opportunity for students, or those with varying schedules, seeking to start a career in the Human Services field.
Residential direct support staff are members of a team, responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with mental illness. Each direct support staff member is responsible for ensuring that the human rights of all individuals served are met. Staff are responsible for treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Direct support staff are responsible for supporting individuals in the completion of their daily routines; and for ensuring persons served live a safe, healthy, enjoyable life in the community. Direct support staff are responsible for ensuring that individuals are provided with opportunities to learn and exercise, increasing independence as much as is practicable. Responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of persons in a residential setting. Participate with persons with psychiatric disabilities, based on their needs, in self-help skills, activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time and community integration. Implement, teach, and assist individuals with IAP goals and objectives.
High school diploma or GED required. Three years related experience, providing child care/elder care/direct support to developmentally disabled persons, or previous experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting is required. An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered. Must be MAP certified, CPR/First Aid certified within five (5) continuous months of employment/date of hire (training provided free to staff).
The Relief’s schedule is flexible but there are three available shifts:

|Day – 7am-3pm |
|Evening – 3pm-11pm |
