JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Residential Assistant Program Coordinator, you’ll be a member of the Recovery Support Team.  The Assistant Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the programmatic and administrative aspects of a residential program under the supervision of the Program Coordinator and/or Residential Service Coordinator.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in recruiting, training and supervising staff
  • Help with staff scheduling
  • Assist in supervising the development of Quality Indicators through the ISP process and Program Goals
  • Participate in the assessment of referrals, admissions and discharges
  • Insure the program and person records are current, comprehensive and meet agency and funding source standards
  • Assists as liaison with families/guardians, DMH, and other outside service providers
  • Supervises and participates in the housekeeping and maintenance of the house and vehicle
  • Participates in the development of the program budget, and monitors the program expenses
  • Assist in supervising the management of person’s funds and possessions, within the guidelines of the ISP and agency
  • Monitor medications in accordance with MAP regulations
  • Develop linkages with a wide range of community resources specific to meet the needs and goals of persons with psychiatric disabilities

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: At least 1 year experience in human services and supervisory experience required

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred

Skills: You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You must also have valid Driver’s license, be MAP certified, CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).

Job Information

Weekend Floaters are part-time (16 hours per week) positions, responsible for providing weekend coverage in a residential home setting; in either a Direct Support Professional or Awake Overnight capacity. During their assigned hours, floaters must be willing, and able, to work at any residential program at short notice. Floaters may be hired to work at either Mental Health or Developmental Disability residential programs. Access to reliable transportation is required, to ensure the floater’s ability to travel to different sites quickly and efficiently.

Residential direct support staff are members of a team, responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with mental illness. Each direct support staff member is responsible for ensuring that the human rights of all individuals served are met. Staff are responsible for treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Direct support staff are responsible for supporting individuals in the completion of their daily routines; and for ensuring persons served live a safe, healthy, enjoyable life in the community. Direct support staff are responsible for ensuring that individuals are provided with opportunities to learn and exercise, increasing independence as much as is practicable.

High school diploma or GED required. Three years related experience, providing child care/elder care/direct support to developmentally disabled persons, or previous experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting is required. An equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered. Must be MAP certified, CPR/First Aid certified within five (5) continuous months of employment/date of hire.

Requirements:

High school degree or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. One (1) to two (2) years human services experience with similar population preferred. Must have Driver’s license. Must be MAP certified, CPR/1st aide within five (5) months of hire.

Salary:  $16/hour

Three Shifts Available:

Overnight – Sat-Sun 11pm-7am
Day – Sat-Sun 7am-3pm
Evening – Sat-Sun 3pm-11pm

Residential Counselors work one-on-one with consumers in a residential setting. Residential Counselors are responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of consumers through the provision of person centered/recovery oriented interventions. Participate with consumers with psychiatric disabilities, based on their needs, in self-help skills, activities of daily living, socialization, leisure time and community integration. Implement, teach, and assist individuals with IAP goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • High school degree or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • One (1) to two (2) years human services experience with similar population preferred
  • Must have valid Massachusetts driver’s license

Relief Staff have the ability to set their own schedules based on their preference and availability, along with the freedom to work in many settings and locations. Able to work as many as 40 hours per week, Relief Staff have much earning potential, without the commitment to a set schedule. A driver’s license is preferred, but not required for Relief Staff.
