Therapeutic Training and Support Worker – Mandarin Bilingual
Therapeutic Training and Support is a service provided by a qualified paraprofessional working under the supervision of a licensed clinician to support implementation of the clinician’s treatment plan to assist the youth and family in achieving the goals of the plan.
Assists the clinician in implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan designed to address the youth’s mental health, behavioral and emotional needs.
Provides coaching to the youth and family in support of decision-making in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
Works with the entire family to implement interventions and behavioral techniques to enhance problem-solving, limit-setting, risk management/safety planning, communication, build skills to strengthen the family, advance therapeutic goals, or improve ineffective patterns of interaction.
Teach the youth to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and develop self control of feelings as well as emotional responses to situations.
Assists the family with addressing the youth’s emotional and mental health needs.
Identify and utilize community resources; develop and maintain natural supports for the youth and parent/caregiver(s).
Phone contact and consultation are provided as part of the intervention.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university and one year experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth; Associate’s degree in a human services field from an accredited school and one year of experience working with the target population; or High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth.
Skills: Ability to work in community and in-home settings. Must be fluent in Mandarin (please list on resume). Valid Massachusetts drivers license required. Access to a consistently reliable vehicle required.
